Assessing an Animal’s Quality of Life

Assessing an animal’s quality of life (QoL) can be difficult.

How do you ensure that assessments are objective? As we can’t talk to our pets, any measure is always going to be subjective.

The QoL that your pet is experiencing should be central to any decision. All pets should have freedom from/to:

Hunger or thirst
Pain, injury or disease
Fear and distress
Discomfort
Express normal behaviour
